01 · Benidorm to Guadalest by Bike
Swap the seafront for mountain scenery on a rewarding ride to Guadalest. Starting at the CRUUZR shop in Benidorm’s old town, this approximately 42 km return route brings one of the Costa Blanca’s most memorable villages within a day’s cycling adventure.
From the coast to the mountains
Begin at CRUUZR, Calle Santa Faz 10, and head inland towards Guadalest. The outward ride is the main climb of the day, gradually taking you from Benidorm’s coastal setting into the mountains. At approximately 21 km each way, it is a shorter alternative to a longer circuit around the Guadalest reservoir.
A memorable stop in Guadalest
Guadalest’s historic village sits high above the valley, with views over its reservoir and the surrounding mountains. Make time to explore the old town, enjoy a café stop or visit the castle before heading back to Benidorm.
The mapped cycling turnaround is on the road approach below the historic centre. Your visit to the village is an additional stop, and the route does not include a circuit around the reservoir.
Choose your ride
With around 880 m of climbing, this is a rewarding route for riders who enjoy hills. A Specialized Road bike is a good fit for a sporty day out; an e-bike can give you extra assistance on the climb. Ask the CRUUZR team to help choose your bike and plan the day.
02 · CRUUZR to Torre de les Caletes
Follow the Mediterranean east from Benidorm’s old town to the historic Torre de les Caletes. This short coastal adventure combines Levante’s lively beachfront with the coves and sea views at the edge of Serra Gelada Natural Park.
Levante, coves and Mediterranean views
Start at CRUUZR on Calle Santa Faz 10 and head east along the Levante coastline towards Rincón de Loix. Beyond the beach, the route climbs towards Punta del Cavall, with Cala Almadraba and Cala del Tío Ximo nearby and open views across the Mediterranean.
At Torre de les Caletes, enjoy a break beside one of Benidorm’s historic coastal landmarks. The tower’s setting makes a memorable photo stop before the ride back towards the old town. Allow one to two hours for a relaxed outing with time to enjoy the views.
A shorter adventure from the shop
Around 4.9 km each way, this is a compact alternative to our Guadalest mountain ride. The coastal climb adds a little adventure; an e-bike offers extra assistance, while a City Bike suits riders happy with an uphill section. The map follows the upper winding road above the coves and ends beside the tower.
03 · CRUUZR to Mirador de l’Ermita Verge del Mar
Ride west from Benidorm’s old town along the sweeping curve of Poniente Beach. This short coastal adventure finishes with a climb to the Ermita Verge del Mar viewpoint, where the bay, skyline and Mediterranean open out in front of you.
Poniente Beach and a panoramic finish
Start at CRUUZR on Calle Santa Faz 10 and head west towards Poniente. Follow the coastline past the long beach and its seafront scenery towards La Cala. The final section climbs to the small Ermita Verge del Mar, beside Tossal de la Cala.
Take a break at the viewpoint and enjoy the panorama across Poniente Bay towards Benidorm’s skyline. It’s a memorable spot for photos and a chance to see the city from a different angle before heading back to the old town.
Your morning by the sea
At around 4.1 km each way, this ride fits into a relaxed morning or afternoon. A City Bike suits riders comfortable with the final uphill section, while an e-bike adds extra assistance for the climb. Allow an hour or two to enjoy the route, viewpoint and a café stop along the coast.
04 · Benidorm Coast & Parks Explorer
Two viewpoints, two beaches, two parks and one memorable ride. Combine our Poniente and Levante adventures into a coastal outing from CRUUZR, with a different return from the western viewpoint to add a little loop to your day.
West first: Poniente and the Ermita
Start at CRUUZR on Calle Santa Faz 10 and follow the Poniente beachfront to Mirador de l’Ermita Verge del Mar. Enjoy the climb and the panorama across Poniente Bay before heading down towards the seafront.
Coastal return, parks and the ride east
Return along the Poniente coastline before turning inland through Parc de Foietes and Parc de l’Aigüera. This park connection adds a loop and a change of scenery. Continue through the old town and east beside Levante Beach, past Rincón de Loix and towards Torre de les Caletes at the edge of Serra Gelada.
Take time for the sea views at the tower, then follow the coastal road back to CRUUZR. This complete ride brings together both beaches, two viewpoints and the parks, with a different return from the western viewpoint and an out-and-back visit to the tower.
Make a day of Benidorm’s coastline
Allow three to five hours for the full experience, including viewpoint breaks and a café stop. Both viewpoints have uphill sections, so an e-bike is a comfortable choice for extra assistance. A City Bike also suits riders who enjoy a little climbing.
05 · CRUUZR to Albir Lighthouse & Altea
A lighthouse above the Mediterranean, Albir’s seafront and Altea’s beautiful whitewashed old town: this ride brings three Costa Blanca highlights together. Start at CRUUZR, visit Torre Bombarda beside the Albir lighthouse, then continue to Altea for cobbled streets, the blue-domed church and a leisurely lunch before heading back to Benidorm.
Torre Bombarda and the Albir lighthouse
Leave CRUUZR on Calle Santa Faz 10 and head east beside Levante Beach, then continue around the northern side of Serra Gelada towards Albir. The winding, paved lighthouse path opens up views across Altea Bay and the surrounding mountains. At the end, the remains of Torre Bombarda sit beside the Faro de l’Albir: a wonderful setting for a sea-view break and photos.
Plan your lighthouse stop: the lighthouse path has timed cycling access. Local route guidance lists cycling before 10:00 and after 20:00; an early start lets you enjoy the lighthouse ride before continuing to Altea for lunch. For a later start, enjoy the approximately 2.5 km path each way as a walk from the park entrance, then continue the bike ride through Albir. Allow extra time for this walking option. Official visitor information · Cycling access times. Current entrance information takes priority.
Through Albir to Altea’s whitewashed old town
Return along the lighthouse path to Albir, then continue beside the bay towards Altea. The scenery changes from cliffside views to a welcoming seaside town, with cafés and places to pause along the way.
Altea’s old town is the highlight of your next stop. Enjoy a stroll through its beautiful cobbled lanes, whitewashed houses and little artisan shops, then make your way to the Church of Nuestra Señora del Consuelo in Plaza de la Iglesia. Its blue domes are one of Altea’s most recognisable sights, and the square is a lovely place to settle down for lunch at one of the surrounding cafés or restaurants.
Lunch, sea views and the ride home
After lunch and a little time to explore, head back through Albir and follow the mapped cycling connections to Benidorm and the CRUUZR shop. With the lighthouse visit, Altea’s old town and a relaxed lunch, this is a ride to enjoy as a half-day adventure rather than rush from stop to stop.
An e-bike adds comfortable assistance on the lighthouse and old-town approaches. A City Bike is a good choice for riders who enjoy a longer outing with some climbing. The short approach to Altea’s church square is shown as an on-foot visit on the map.
06 · Finestrat Foothills Loop
Ride inland from CRUUZR through the countryside between Puig Campana and the lower hills, enjoy a break in Finestrat, then loop back towards Benidorm. Mountain scenery and a village stop, with a shorter ride through the foothills.
From Benidorm to the Puig Campana foothills
Start at the CRUUZR shop on Calle Santa Faz 10 and leave the seafront behind as the route climbs inland. The hills beneath Puig Campana bring a change of scenery, with mountain tracks, open countryside and an adventurous feel before the route turns towards Finestrat.
A village break in Finestrat
Finestrat makes a lovely place to pause among the mountain scenery. Enjoy a café break and a little time in the village before beginning the next part of the ride towards the coast.
The loop back to Benidorm
From Finestrat, descend through the countryside towards the southern part of the loop, then follow the mapped roads and cycling connections back towards Benidorm and the CRUUZR shop. The route keeps the variety of the original idea while leaving out the northern mountain excursion and the ride into Villajoyosa.
A full day of variety
Allow around four to five hours with a village break and time to enjoy the views. Our e-bike is equipped for tracks and is our recommended choice for this ride. Electric assistance helps with the climbs, so you can enjoy the hills, countryside and village stop.
